SCOTTISH YOUTH PARLIAMENT JOINS FIGHT AGAINST ALCOHOL AGE RISE!

AlcoholThe Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) is the latest organisation to formally join the Coalition Against Raising the Drinking Age in Scotland (CARDAS), after its members voted overwhelmingly to oppose moves to prevent under 21’s buying alcohol.

Kieran Collins MSYP, Chair of the Scottish Youth Parliament, said:

“Yet again, decent young people are being discriminated against by a Government intent in tarring all young people with an anti-social behaviour brush.  Whilst we recognise a need to tackle Scotland’s alcohol culture and its links to crime, criminalising youth is not the answer.  Together with the other members of CARDAS we will let them know that young people won’t stand for it.”
